'SABIS Stars 2024' concludes

Muscat: The SABIS Stars 2024 Awards ceremony concluded on Saturday evening at the Choueifat School Theater under the patronage of Sayyid Khalid bin Hamad Al Busaidi.

Armen Manoukian, Principal of Choueifat School, emphasised the importance of the SABIS Stars Awards as a symbol of dedication and excellence in SABIS schools worldwide, and as a platform for its students to showcase their skills and talents in various fields.

Dr Abdulmonem al Hassani, a member of the jury, delivered a speech on behalf of the 48 judges of this global competition. 'We are very proud of all of you, not just the top three, but everyone who has made their mark on this competition. As you bask in the glow of your accomplishments, remember to be proud of yourselves and appreciate those who supported you along the way,' he said.

For his part, Victor Saad from SABIS pointed out that the competition was not just a celebration of talent, but an opportunity for students to build self-confidence, express their opinions, showcase their knowledge and creativity, develop communication and teamwork skills, and seek innovative solutions to current global challenges. 'Such competitions help shape students into confident, multi-skilled global citizens who can excel in a variety of fields,' he said.

SABIS Sun School students from Azerbaijan won first place in the 'Our World Our Concern' category, while Samar Kheriba from Emirates School won first place in the “Junior Painting” category. Vala Al Jaf from Kurdistan School won first place in the “Senior Painting” category and Mayon John from Kenya School won first place in the 'Photography' category. Anna Rizk from Lebanon School won first place in the 'Creative Writing' category.

The Sharjah International School team also won the “Science Incubator Junior” category award, while the Sulaimaniah School team from Saudi Arabia won the 'Science (Adults)' award. The SABIS Sun School team from Azerbaijan won the 'Advertising' category title, while, Diva Menghrajani from Dubai School won the 'Public Speaking' category title.

Sulaimaniah School from Saudi won the 'Debate' category award, while Mira Merchad from Lebanon School won first place in the 'English Poetry RECITING ' category, and Habib Joukhadar from Lebanon won first place in the 'Arabic Poetry ' category.

The competition concluded with Sarah Bayrakdar from Lebanon School winning first place in the singing category.
