Post-flood road rehabilitation work in full swing

Muscat: Engineer Saeed bin Hamoud al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, visited the North al Batinah Governorate on Friday to review the conditions of the roads affected by the recent weather conditions.
The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology (MTCIT) has been continuing its efforts to make the damaged roads motorable and facilitate traffic movement.
The Department of Roads in the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate has been making efforts to reopen the asphalt roads by cleaning them of wadi residues, including rocks from the landslides, especially on the Birkat Al-Mouz- Birkat Al-Mouz - Firq Road.
In North al Sharqiyah Governorate, efforts were underway to reopen the affected roads by removing wadi residues on the Sinaw - Mahut road, while in South al Sharqiyah, the cleaning process was underway on the Sur - Al Kamil (including repair works), Quriyat - Sur dual road, and to avoid traffic accidents. Cleaning has been completed on the Wadi Sal Road in Ras al Hadd.
In South Al Batinah Governorate, the emergency plan was activated to follow up on the condition of the main and secondary roads in all wilayats.
The Royal Army of Oman, represented by the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) Engineering division, reopened the Al-Fai Road and the Mahdha-Buraimi Road and removed mud and dust accumulations on roads Al-Buraimi Governorate.
The Royal Army of Oman continued to restore services in the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate as per the integrated national efforts to deal with the effects of the weather situation.
It provided drinking water in the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi and reopened some main and secondary roads in the wilayats of Dima W'attayeen, Al Qabil, and Wadi Bani Khalid.
The Sultan's Armed Forces, with its various units, intensified support and assistance operations, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology (MTCIT), to reopen the affected roads, remove mud accumulations, and deliver supplies and electrical generators to the affected states and villages
According to First Lieutenant Rashid bin Hamad Al Kalbani of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), “These efforts come within the framework of the roles and tasks undertaken by the Sultan’s Armed Forces and other departments of the Ministry of Defence to overcome all challenges and ensure safe access for citizens in the affected places and villages.'
