The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority has urged the public to take all cautions to be safe during Eid holidays.
It stated that people should avoid sudden run-over accidents by staying away from moving vehicles.
Monitoring children during the holidays is a priority especially while they are swimming in home pools to prevent cases of drowning.
To avoid fire hazards the authority stated, 'Avoid keeping flammable materials inside your vehicle.'
It added that it is important for family members to have complete awareness of home safety, providing safety and security items and tools along with following guidelines and instructions.
As part of safety procedures and means, the authority stated that it is important to equip homes with a suitable fire extinguisher, a first aid kit, a gas leakage sensor, and practice dealing with minor accidents when they occur. Also, it is advisable to instals smoke sensors and most importantly identify emergency exits.
For safety reasons the authority has requested the public to avoid exposure to direct sunlight as it may lead to heat stroke or heat exhaustion. The emergency numbers to call are 9999 or 24343666.
