Al Soor emerge champions in Al Shabab Cup tourney

Al Soor team emerged victorious in Al Shabab Cup football tournament hosted by Al Shabab club. Al Soor team won the cup after defeating Al Jenanh team 1-0 in the final clash on Monday. The only goal in the match played at Al Shabab club was scored by Al Mutasim al Malki who managed to deliver a crucial win for Al Soor.
The first half ended in a goalless draw after tight competition between both sides. Also, the defenders from both teams showed top performance to break all the scoring attempts in the opening half. In the deciding half, Al Soor managed to break the deadlock in the 63rd minute as Al Mutasim al Malki netted after he received a perfect assistance from Mahmood al Wahaibi to put the ball on target. With this significant victory, Al Soor were crowned champions of Al Shabab Cup.
Sayyid Tariq bin Mahmood al Busaidi, Wali of Barka, was the chief guest for the final in presence of Ahmed bin Abdullah al Owaisi, Chairman of Al Shabab club, and Oman’s former goalkeeper icon Ali al Habsi and big crowd of fans from both teams.
After the completion of the final match, the chief guest gave away the trophies and medals to Al Soor team players. The players from Al Jenanh team received the silver medals from the chief guest. Mahmood al Subhi from Al Soor was named as the most valuable player in the tournament while goalie of Al Jenanh team won the best goalkeeper award. Al Mutasim al Malki from Al Soor claimed the top scorer award in the tournament. At the end of the awards ceremony, Ahmed al Owaisi presented a memento to the chief guest.
