MUSCAT: The Scientific College of Design is conducting a 15 day-long art exhibition, which began on Monday.
Dr Khamis al Balushi, Board of Trustees Chairman, at Scientific College of Design (SCD), inaugurated the art exhibition along with Dr Mona Kamal Ismail, Dean, Scientific College of Design, Dr Imad Adel, BoD Representative, and Dr Mohemmedh Tarik.
Over 30 Oman-based artists will showcase about 40 of their works of art on a theme based on ‘Treasures of Oman’.
Artist Rema Sivakumar who has curated the exhibition says, “This is a great experience to work with all the heads of the department, professors, students and artists where one feels like a college ambience and the artists themselves felt like students by observation, understanding various works. The theme includes abstract, realism, contemporary art along with photography, sculpture art, ceramic art works and beautiful calligraphies associated with Oman.”
The artwork showcased includes a diversity of ideas and a high-level of organisation that takes into account the specificity of the content and the various branches of art work.
The artists, during their explanation of their ideas and actions, showed a deep level of knowledge and know-how they had performed their tasks. The glass gallery at the SCD is the platform to showcase different unique works of art based on different colours and mediums.
