MUSCAT: The holy Quran has quick fixes aplenty for any obstacles in life and it is the only way out for humankind to seek solace; hence, read, read and read Holy Quran.
This is the theme on which the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs represented by The Department of Islamic Information and Cultural Exchange at Ifta Office has built the 7th edition of the Ta’aruf event upon and is to be held on Friday, March 22, corresponding to Friday ,11th of Ramadhan 1445AH, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) Grand Ballroom at 4.30 pm.
‘Ta’aruf’ that translates as ‘Know Islam’, being held every year during the holy month, opens up doors of wisdom about the religion and the belief to the new reverts to Islam and people from other faiths. It hosts people who wanted to know more of the religion, its applicability in the modern world, and its stance in events that affect humans as well as other creatures globally. The idea behind the evening of believers and non-believers is to shed more light on the principles of Islam at a time when wrong conceptions, misunderstanding about Islam and Islamophobia persist among some segments of the society.
Attendance will be restricted for only new reverts to Islam and people from other faiths who want to know more about the religion. Attendant should be adults (15 years and above) and registration must be through the website. As many as 600 people who register first will be given priority and, finally, attendees should be present themselves by 4.30 pm.
'Ta'aruf, an exclusive event to let the non-Muslims and new Muslims know Islam more is held under the auspices of the Department of Introduction to Islam and Cultural Exchange at the Ministry and will be a window to those who want to know about Islam with all its true instructions to mankind,' Hamed Al Badi, representative of the Ministry told the Observer.
In last year’s event titled 'Toward Human Happiness', nearly 700 people from across the continents who embraced the religion and its customs and culture gathered themselves and shared their feelings.
