MAHDHA: The rainfall monitoring stations of the Directorate-General of Agriculture and Water Resources in Al Buraimi Governorate recorded rainfall amounts exceeding 60 mm.
Engineer Zayed bin Khalifa al Jabri, Head of the Agricultural Development and Water Resources Department in the Wilayat of Mahdha, said that the wilayat’s six dams (Mahdha Dam, Abu Qala Dam, Masah Dam, and Haywan Dam, Mesailik Dam and Al Jawif Dam) are now filled to the brim after receiving 3.011 million cubic metres of water due to extreme heavy rainfall brought by the Al Rayyan depression.
Al Jabri explained that the department had taken necessary measures prior to the weather condition, including discharging dams from water so that they can receive new quantities of rainwater on the one hand and avoiding floods on the other hand. — ONA
