Muscat: The latest radar images indicate Muscat is expected to receive rain on Saturday night and Sunday morning.

“There are certain factors why we are seeing the amount of rainfall in certain areas. There is a band of clouds in the affected areas especially from Al Hajar mountains and the southern part of the Dhahira, Buraimi, Dakhiliyah, and governorates,” said the meteorologist at Civil Aviation Authority speaking to Observer.

He said that they are expecting rain to head to Musacat late at night on Saturday and Sunday morning.

At present Al Buraimi is experiencing severe thunderstorms, as well as parts of Musandam and the southern part of Al Dhahira and Al Dakhiliyah. The wind will continue to be strong mainly southeasterly and the coast of the Sea of Oman will be north-easterly - moderate to fresh.

The sea waves continue to be rough with a height of 2 to 3 m.

There is a continued flow of rain clouds and rainfall of varying intensity over the governorates of Musandam, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah and Al Dakhiliyah, with chances of its impact extending to include the rest of the northern governorates in the coming time.
