Oman to be affected by low pressure from Monday

Muscat: There is a possibility of the Sultanate of Oman being affected by a trough of a low-pressure system starting from Monday, March 4, 2024, until the end of the week.

Clouds are expected to flow and form over most governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, with the chance of isolated rainfall on Monday.

Rainfall is expected to be variable in intensity and thunderstorms (10-50 mm) are anticipated on Tuesday, accompanied by active downdraft winds and hail in the Musandam Governorate, extending to cover the rest of the governorates.

There is a possibility of the sea wave height increasing from moderate to rough (2-3 meters) on the western coasts of the Musandam Governorate and the coasts of the Arabian Sea, with the blowing of southeast winds (15-25 knots) in most governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, leading to the rise of dust and dirt in the desert and open areas.

Clouds advection and formation from Monday evening with the possibility of isolated rainfall (5-20 mm).

|• Clouds advection will continue on Tuesday with the chance of variable-intensity rainfall (10-50 mm) occasionally thundershowers leading to the flow of wadies.

• Fresh downdraft with speed of (15 to 35 kt).
