Sur Maritime Heritage Festival from Feb 25

The Sur Maritime Heritage Festival will be held in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate from Sunday, February 25, aimed at highlighting the role of the historical and maritime heritage of the Wilayat and promoting tourism.
The festival will continue until March 9.
Organized by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in cooperation with the Office of the Governor of South Al Sharqiyah and several government and private agencies, the festival will include a marine heritage village, a corner dedicated to craft industries, sessions, and lectures, a café, a theater for recreational and cultural events and activities, popular games, and traditional arts performances related to the sea.
The Omani Food Carnival will include a series of interactive activities that allow visitors to explore the popular Omani and international dishes, with a focus on fresh seafood from local sources to reflect the richness of marine wealth in the Governorate, in addition to heritage and entertainment shows.
The festival will include events such as a windsurfing experience, a sailing experience, a marine fishing competition, a symposium on maritime heritage (images of man and the sea), a traditional boat race, a display of traditional Omani games and sports, in addition to a kite flying display, in addition to offering tourism experiences through a visit to tourist sites and places in Sur.
