Ominvest Masters golf tournament concludes

MUSCAT: Dedicated to bolstering the sports and tourism industries in the Sultanate of Oman, Oman International Development and Investment Company 'Ominvest”, orchestrated the Oman Ominvest Masters Golf Tournament which took place on February 16 and 17 in the La Vie Club at Muscat Hills, Madinat Al Irfan.
The closing ceremony was attended by His Highness Azzan bin Qais al Said, Abdulaziz bin Mohammed al Balushi, Group CEO of Ominvest, CEOs of the group's companies, and a number of amateurs and concerned parties.
The event drew 60 golfers from the GCC countries, featuring participation from national teams of Oman, as well as teams from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.
Saudi player Khalid al Attiyah, who secured the championship title. He indicated that the tournament was successful from the organisational and competitive point of view and witnessed a great participation of professional and distinguished players, applauding the organisers' great efforts.
The Oman Ominvest Masters Golf Tournament, recognised as the largest amateur golf event in Oman, showcased the considerable potential within the sports and tourism sectors.
Abdulaziz bin Mohammed al Balushi, Group CEO of Ominvest, stated that the tournament played a role in advancing the opportunities within the Sultanate of Oman to support and foster the sport of golf. It also aimed to inspire talented individuals and amateurs to enhance their skills.
In a media announcement, he expressed, 'LA VIE Club, an investment of Ominvest, features mountainous terrain, lush greenery, and panoramic views of the Sea of Oman. This enhances the Sultanate of Oman's standing in the realm of golf both regionally and globally.'
The Oman Ominvest Masters Golf Tournament was supported by numerous local businesses. Platinum sponsorship was extended by Ominvest, Oman Arab Bank, and Oman Real Estate Investment and Services (Oris). Gold sponsorship was generously provided by Alizz Islamic Bank, U-Capital, Liva Insurance, Takaful Oman Insurance, and National Finance Company.
LA VIE Club features an 18-hole grassed golf course which is uniquely situated across 45 hectares of land, it provides picturesque sea views and a breathtaking backdrop of the mountains. The course integrates the natural valley terrain, incorporating expansive fairways along the cliffs. With five golf play options, it caters to a diverse range of golfing skills.
The LA VIE project covers an area of around 640,000 square metres and features a natural golf course spanning 600,000 square metres, complete with 18 holes and a private club.
The project also comprises of residential, commercial, and tourism buildings with a built-up area of 64,000 square metres. The centrepiece of the development is an 80-room boutique hotel managed by Tivoli and it will also also provide a private health club, and spa operated by the world-leading brand 'Anantara.'
