Heavy rains to continue till Tuesday morning, Mountain road closed

Muscat: Heavy thundershowers associated with downdraft fresh winds and hail are expected during this night and tomorrow early morning over Governorates of North a Sharqiya, South al Sharqiyah, Muscat, parts of South al Batinah (20-60mm), and isolated rain over Governorates of North a Batinah, Al Dhahirah, Al Buraimi and Musandam with precipitation ranging (10-30 mm)
Heavy thundershowers with hail are expected ranging (20-60 mm) that may cause flash floods (Wadis).
Strong downdraft active winds with speeds ranging from 15 - 35 knots (28 - 64 km/h).
Traffic movement has been closed again on the Amerat-Bausher Mountain Road in both directions as heavy rains lashed different parts of the capital leading to floods.
Due to the flowing Wadi Sur Bani Khuzaym, traffic has been cut off between the Wilayats of Shinas and Liwa.
