Young Omani students, who were winners of the Oman Refco’s ‘Family Hero Programme’ were feted by Her Highness Sayyida Hujaija Jaffer al Said with awards and certificates of appreciation at a glittering ceremony in Muscat last month.
‘Family Hero Programme’ is a transformative CSR initiative initiated by Oman Refco in collaboration with the National Training Institute (NTI), aimed at equipping the next generation with fundamental knowledge in household electrical repairs. This pioneering initiative focuses on training young minds to troubleshoot and fix basic electrical issues in appliances such as refrigerators, air conditioners, and washing machines.
As many as 20 enthusiastic students were trained in its inaugural phase programme held from January 14 to 24, 2024. HH Sayyida Hujaija awarded the certificates to the participating Omani students. “Through this initiative, Oman Refco aims to foster a generation of capable and skilled individuals who can address common household electrical problems, attend to small glitches that take place at households from time to time and to promote self-sufficiency and community well-being,” an official representing the orgnisers told the Observer.
