Be cautious of dust rising winds

Muscat: The Southeast wind activity, on February 1, 2024, may cause dust to rise over parts of the Al Wusta and Dhofar Governorates and a rise in maximum temperatures over parts of the desert areas of the Dhofar Governorate.
Mazyuna recorded the highest temperature in Oman with 34.7 degrees Celsius, followed by Maqshin 33.4 degrees C, Yaaloni and Zamaim 33.3 degrees C, Fahad 32.8 degrees C, Haima 32.7 degrees C, Haima 32. 7 degrees C, Al Kamal Wa Al Wafi 32.5 degrees C and Jalan Bu Hassan 32.4 degrees C.
Good rain was reported in Khasab, Musandam Governorate. Earlier Oman Met Office had alerted that cloud flow of varying heights and chances of scattered rain of varying intensity over the Musandam Governorate and parts of the Buraimi and North Al Batinah Governorates. The opportunities also extend to include parts of the Hajar Mountains and the coasts of the Sea of Oman.
Meanwhile, clouds continued to flow over Musandam Governorate along with scattered rain falls.
Weather experts also pointed out about the significant difference in temperatures during the daytime.
For example the temperature rising on Thursday and the drop on Sunday. The main reason is the change in the source of the surface winds they noted.
This is the period of weather fluctuations and could cause spread of influenza.
Clouds were also forming over parts of the Hajar Mountains with chances of scattered rain said the Oman Met Office on Thursday.
