HM issues two Royal decrees

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Wednesday issued two Royal decrees reading as follows:
Royal Decree No (5/2024) amends some provisions of the Tax Authority System (law).
Article (1) states that the text of Article (6) of the Tax Authority’s System (law) promulgated by Royal Decree No 75/2020 shall be replaced with the following text:
“The Tax Authority shall have a Chairman to be appointed by Royal decree”.
Article (2) cancels all that contradicts this decree or contravenes its provisions.
Article (3) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from its date of issue.
Royal Decree No (6/2024) appoints a Chairman for the Tax Authority.
Article (1) appoints Nasser bin Khamis bin Ali Al Jashmi as Chairman for the Tax Authority along with his rank and financial allocations.
Article (2) says that this decree shall be in the Official Gazette and enforced from its date of issue.
