Mwasalat to launch Sharjah-Muscat bus service

Sharjah - Mwasalat, a subsidiary of ASYAD Group, has signed an agreement with the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to operate daily bus trips between Muscat and Sharjah.
The new service is aimed at expanding international bus transportation between Oman and the UAE, which will boost tourism between the two countries and provide travel options for people.
The agreement was signed by Badr Mohammed al Nadabi, CEO of Mwasalat, and Eng. Yousif Khamis al Athmane, Chairman of SRTA.
Details of the agreement and the bus schedule are yet to be released.
Mwasalat launched the Muscat-Abu Dhabi route on October 1, which operates via Buraimi in the Sultanate and Al Ain in the UAE with a one-way ticket to cost R011.5.
Currently, there is a bus service connecting Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) and Khasab in Musandam, operated by the RAK Transport Authority.
Travel time is approximately three hours and a ticket for the one-way journey costs Dh50.
