Seeb triumphs over Ahli Sidab in thrilling league showdown

MUSCAT: Seeb Club secured a victory against Ahli Sidab with a score of 86-64 in the match held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, as part of the final rounds of the general basketball league for the 2023-24 season.
The game witnessed fluctuations battle between the two teams over four quarters. Seeb took the lead in the first quarter with a two-point difference (20-18), but Ahli Sidab fought back in the second quarter, leading by a single point (19-18). However, Seeb rallied in the third and fourth quarters, displaying a strong performance and clinching the win.
The match started well for Ahli Sidab, their defence successfully countered Seeb's attacks, and they led 10-2. After shots by Hamir al Hasani, Ahmed al Hasani, Khalid al Hashmi and Wael, Seeb's Rashid al Zahibi scored two points. However, Seeb managed to narrow the gap with a three-pointer from Mazen al Hadidi, followed by two points from his team-mate Rashid al Zahibi, bringing the score to 7-10. Ahli Sidab extended their lead by two points through Sami al Ghilani, making it 12-7. Yet, Seeb performed well, making a comeback and finishing the first quarter leading 20-18.

The third quarter saw both teams engaging in back-and-forth attacks. Seeb opened the quarter by scoring 4 points, strengthening their team's lead to 42-37. The excitement persisted with more attacks, and Seeb managed to widen the gap to be 62-42.
The final quarter showcased a back-and-forth battle, with Ayman al Mahrami and Abdulredha al Battashi securing a lead of 67-42 for Seeb. Both teams continued to score, concluding the match with Seeb emerging victorious with a score of 86-64.
Referees for the match were international referee Taha al Hashdi as the first referee, international referee Rashid al Mashifari as the second referee, and international referee Ahmed al Khusaibi as the third referee.
