TECS beat Vanderlande; Jotun, Earn Trust win

MUSCAT: TECS beat Vanderlande in the A Division League 2023-24 powered by Khimji Ramdas LLC at the Oman Cricket Academy Turf 2 on Friday.
TECS posted 227 courtesy P Ravindu’s salient 62 along with Jaleel K’s aggressive 45 to post a above-par total. Aiyappan B picked 4 wickets for Vanderlande. In reply, Vanderlande kept losing wickets as Abdul Malik and Devansh Loya picked 2 wickets each in the powerplay. Jaleel K’s fifer sealed the deal for TECS as they registered the third win for the league.
In the D Division League 2023-24 powered by Credit Oman LLC, Winners Jotun beat Landmark Group at the Amerat Municipality Grounds on Friday.
Landmark Group posted 177 courtesy half centuries from Nithin Kumar and Kugan KR. Anoop V picked 2 wickets for Winners Jotun. In reply, Vineesh Raj’s magnificent century sealed the victory for Winners Jotun chasing with 8 balls and 4 wickets remaining. Vineeth Nair picked 4 wickets for Landmark Group.
In another D Division League match, Earn Trust beat OCT Seeb on Friday.
Mustansar Hussain’s 91 and Khurram Chaudhary’s 64 piled a 152-run partnership that helped Earn Trust post a mammoth total of 206. Issa al Balushi picked 2 wickets for OCT Seeb. In reply, OCT Seeb lost wickets at regular intervals as Zaheer Abbas picked 4 wickets and Maanas Kapoor scalped two. OCT Seeb could only manage 114 courtesy of Ahmed al Balushi’s 28.
MAJEES CC THUMP VLCC
In the Premier Division League 2023-24 powered by Muscat Pharmacy LLC, Majees CC thumped VLCC by 6 wickets at the Oman Cricket Academy Turf 1 on Friday.
VLCC posted a 206 courtesy of Sahil Dias’ 90 while Sajjad Khan and Sultan Ahmed managed to notch 44 and 41 respectively. Zeeshan Maqsood and Aamir Kaleem picked 2 wickets each. In reply, the left-handed batting pair of Zeeshan Maqsood and Aamir Kaleem stitched a 191-run partnership to whistle through the target set by VLCC. Zeeshan scored a magnificent century ably supported by skipper Kaleem scoring 63. Sohail Ahmed picked 2 wickets for VLCC.
In another Premier Division match on Saturday, Renaissance beat Zawawi Powertech at the Oman Cricket Academy Turf 1.
Renaissance posted a par-total of 208 courtesy Hammad Mirza’s 40 along with Asif Khan scoring 39 and Mohd Adeeb scoring a quick 33. Saishiv Narayan picked 4 wickets while Sivaraj Dheenadhayalu picked 3 wickets to bundle Renaissance. In reply, Kalaiarasan Natarajan held the Powertech chase scoring 51 along with Prabhakaran Kannan scoring 35 but could not take them through the line. Skipper Sufyan Mehmood picked 3 scalps while Asif Khan and Syed Muzamil picked 2 wickets to seal the victory for Renaissance.
