OCCI approves 2024 budget

 
MUSCAT: The Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), stressed the government’s interest in supporting the private sector and enabling it to carry out its roles in order to integrate with the Omani economic system as the sector witnessed tangible and effective activity in economic development during this year and has contributed significantly to the economic diversification efforts.

It came at the eight meeting of the OCCI Board of Directors held under the chairmanship of Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, board chairman.

The board agreed to conduct a study on business competitiveness in the Sultanate of Oman to serve as a reference for various authorities in the country to improve the business environment. It also approved to float a tender for conducting a study on the challenges of financing economic diversification sectors.

During the meeting, the board approved the OCCI’s budget for 2024 which encompasses projects, activities and events that will be held in the governorates in order to achieve the strategic directions of the OCCI with regard to expanding the base of economic diversification and boosting the economy of the governorates.

The board discussed some topics related to economic affairs, improving the business environment and strengthening partnership and cooperation with various parties as the OCCI general budget for the year 2024 enhances the projects, activities, and events that it carries out through its branches in the governorates to boost national economy. — ONA
