HH Sayyid Theyazin presides over passing out of RAO officers

Muscat: HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, presided over a ceremony marking the passing out of a batch of Officer Cadets, University and Limited Service Officers after the completion of courses at Sultan Qaboos Military College, Royal Army of Oman (RAO). The ceremony took place on the military parade field at Muaskar Al Murtafaa on Tuesday.
The RAO performed a military show that demonstrated the skill of its personnel and highlighted the great attention accorded to the RAO by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander. The ceremony began with a military salute to HH Sayyid Theyazin. Then, the RAO band played the Royal Anthem. After that, the commander of the parade requested the chief guest to inspect the front row of the passing out batch.
The graduates put in a military show, with the infantry passing in front of the dais, led by bearers of the Sultan Qaboos Military College colours. Then, the column performed a forward march in the form of a parade.
Then, HH Sayyid Theyazin handed over the sword of honour to officer cadet Mustafa Hamad al Samri, from the Royal Army of Oman, who won first place at the level of the officer cadets’ course. This was followed by protocols of handing over the banner of the Sultan Qaboos Military College.
After that, the graduates chanted the Royal Army of Oman’s anthem and performed the Oath of Loyalty. They chanted thrice “Long Live His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander”. Then, the column gave a military salute and the RAO band played the Royal Anthem, after which the leader of the column stepped forward asking permission to dismiss.
The queue passed in front of the main stage, giving the military salute to His Highness the Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, the chief guest of the ceremony.
The ceremony was attended by Royal Family members, ministers, commanders of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and other military and security units, retired SAF commanders, senior SAF officers and other military and security units, and senior retired officers from other military and security units, military attaches at the embassies of Arab and friendly countries accredited to the Sultanate of Oman, RAO personnel and parents of graduating officers.
The course was attended by officers from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, SAF Headquarters, the Royal Air Force of Oman, the Royal Guard of Oman, the Sultan’s Special Force, the Royal Oman Police, security units and the Royal Court Affairs.
This was in addition to officer cadets from the armed forces of the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Jordan.
