Muscat: The Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic in Muscat has announced that citizens of the Sultanate of Oman can obtain an entry visa to Syria at border checkpoints of the Arab republic.
This was unveiled in a statement made to Oman News Agency (ONA) by Dr Idris Maya, Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Sultanate of Oman
The ambassador pointed out that the step reflects the depth of fraternal relations and bonds between the peoples of Oman and Syria.
The move was made in implementation of recommendations of a joint government committee that convened in Muscat on July 12 and 13, 2023, said Dr Idris, noting that the step was a gesture to upgrade ties of economic cooperation, commercial exchange and tourism to the standard of the distinguished political relations.
Accordingly, Omanis do not need to visit Syrian embassies or consulates abroad to obtain an entry visa, said Dr Idris, who affirmed that the Syrian embassy in Muscat is fully prepared to answer any query related to this issue and extend assistance to Omanis wishing to visit Syria for any reason.
