Oman team wins the Gold in Saudi Tent Pegging
The horse 'SS' wins the first round in Barka

The Oman national tent pegging team was crowned the gold medal on the first day of the AlUla Tent Pegging Championship in Saudi Arabia, during December 17 to 19. With the participation of ten teams, namely Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, UAE, Jordan, Canada, South Africa, Kuwait, and Iran.
While Omani knight, Aahed bin Khamis al Balushi snatched the gold medal in the individual category with quad competition.
Oman national team headed by Mohammed bin Salem al Maliki, where team represented by the contestant Hamad bin Nasser al Riyami, Safwan bin Zaid al Maamari, Hamad bin Saif al Raisi, Waleed bin Zaher al Shuraiqi, and Aahed bin Khamis al Balushi.
The team supervised by Mansour bin Ali al Mahrouqi and his assistant Hilal bin Hassan al Balushi.
The tournament witnessed strong competitions, where at team category resulted Oman team with the gold medal, Saudi team claimed the silver medal and the South African team won the bronze medal.
In the individual category, Aahed bin Khamis al Balushi grabbed the gold medal,The silver medal won by the Saudi team’s knight, Hassan al Asiri and the Kuwaiti team’s racer, Abdullah al Daihani won the bronze medal.
Barka competition
Barka Track hosted the ninth race, organised by the Oman Equestrian and Racing Federation, included four round for purebred Arabian horses and two rounds for crossbred horses.
Al Rahba Horse Racing Track in Barka witnessed the ninth race, which was organised by the Oman Equestrian and Racing Federation. It included races of four rounds, six of which were dedicated to purebred Arabian horses and two rounds for crossbred horses.
In purebred Arabian horses competitions, the horse 'SS' won first place in the Barka round for for 100-metre, owned by Salem bin Said al Rashidi. 'AF Nafhat' won Al Musannah round for a distance of 1200 metres, owned by Hamoud bin Saif al Raqadi. 'Mared Al Wafi' won first place in the Sohar round (local production), for a distance of 1,600 metres, owned by Abdullah bin Muslim al Rasbi. Liwa round snatched by 'The Dheeb F' for 1600 metres, owned by Al Rajabi Stud.
Where in crossbred horses races, 'Karimah' finished first at Suwaiq round for a distance of 2000 metres, owned by Hazza bin Said al Shuaibi. 'Nisal Al Sham' concluded the race for 2000 metres, owned by Mahmoud bin Abdulrahim al Raisi.
