President of Swiss Confederation leaves Oman

Muscat - President Dr. Alain Berset of the Swiss Confederation left Muscat today after an official two-day visit to the Sultanate of Oman, during which he met with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.

Sayyid Khalid Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court led the farewell party for the Swiss President and his accompanying delegation at the Royal Airport.

They were also seen off by Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health (Head of the Mission of Honour), Mahmoud Hamad Al Hassani, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Swiss Confederation and Dr. Thomas Oertle, Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to the Sultanate of Oman.

The Swiss President and his spouse were accompanied during the visit by an official delegation that comprised Dr. Thomas Oertle, Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to the Sultanate of Oman, Ambassador Maya Tissafi,

Head of the Middle East and North Africa Division at the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Nora Kronig Romero, Head of the International Affairs Division and Vice-Director General of the Federal Office of Public Health, Ambassador Wolfgang Amadeus Brülhart, Swiss Special Envoy for the Middle East and a number of officials at the Swiss Confederation.
