Seeb, Sohar and Bahla lead groups in OFA Cup

MUSCAT: The latest clash between Al Seeb and Al Nasr concluded in a nail-biting goalless draw at Seeb Stadium on Sunday, marking the third round of the Oman Football Association (OFA) Cup in Group 1.

In another thrilling Group 1 encounter, Oman Club and Dhofar battled to a goalless draw on Monday evening in the third round.

Al Nasr failed to secure their first win in the OFA Cup, while Seeb maintained their lead in the group with seven points. Dhofar secured the second position on goal difference, followed by Oman Club in the third position with both having four points. Al Nasr remained at the bottom of the group.

In Group 2 action, Sohar emerged victorious over Al Nahda 2-1 at the Sohar Sports Complex on Sunday. Meanwhile, Rustaq and Al Shabab engaged in a hard-fought battle, ending in a 2-2 draw at the Rustaq Sports Complex in the third round.

Sohar's triumph elevated the team to the top of the group with seven points, while Al Nahda remain at the bottom with one point. Rustaq secured the second position with five points, closely following Sohar, while Al Shabab's points increased to two, securing the third spot.



SUR LOSE TOP SPOT

The Group 3 witnessed a shift in leadership as Sur lost 2-1 against Ibri on Monday at the Sur Sports Complex. Simultaneously, Bahla dominated Al Wahda with a commanding 3-0 victory in the third round at Bahla Sports Complex.

The standings now see Sur frozen at four points, with Bahla surging to six points and securing the second position. Bahla now lead the group with an impressive seven-point tally, leaving Al Wahda at the bottom without any points.

The tournament matches are held in the absence of international players during the international break as the Oman national team is playing in the double qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 AFC Asian Cup.
