Comprehensive growth: Latest statistics reveal widespread growth in post offices and mail services

MUSCAT: The number of post offices serving licensed companies across various governorates has grown to 215, with a further 169 correspondence deposit boxes installed as well, according to recent statistics from the National Center for Statistics and Information.

These statistics reveal that among the correspondence deposit boxes, there are 129 personal boxes and two company boxes. Moreover, the combined total of mobile mailboxes with personal dedicated mailboxes stands at approximately 24,954 boxes for individuals and 3,642 boxes designated for companies.

In Muscat, the licensed companies have 79 post offices and 34 correspondence deposit boxes. Within these post offices, there are 71 personal virtual boxes and two for companies. The mobile postal boxes that work in conjunction with personal dedicated mailboxes amount to 12,463 boxes for individuals and 2,772 boxes for companies.

Turning to Dhofar Governorate, it boasts 19 post offices and 17 correspondence deposit boxes for all licensed companies. Among these, five are personal virtual boxes. The mobile mailboxes combined with personal dedicated mailboxes are at 1,531 for individuals and 203 for companies.

In Musandam Governorate, licensed companies have access to four post offices and nine correspondence deposit boxes, with 192 mobile mailboxes combined with personal dedicated mailboxes and 41 for companies.

Al Buraimi Governorate hosts nine post offices and seven deposit boxes for correspondence. Within these post offices, three virtual boxes cater to personal use, and there are 356 mobile postal boxes in conjunction with personal dedicated postal boxes. Additionally, 40 boxes are set aside for companies.

Al Dakhiliyah Governorate has a total of 22 post offices and 24 deposit boxes for correspondence for licensed companies. Among these, 10 are personal virtual boxes, while the mobile mailboxes combined with personal dedicated mailboxes number 2,982 for individuals and 77 for companies.

In North Al Batinah Governorate, licensed companies benefit from 30 post offices and 19 deposit boxes for correspondence. Among these, nine are for personal use. The mobile mailboxes combined with personal dedicated mailboxes total 3,106 for individuals and 282 for companies.

South Al Batinah Governorate provides 13 post offices and 12 deposit boxes for correspondence to licensed companies. Among these, two are personal virtual boxes, and 1,576 mobile postal boxes work in conjunction with personal dedicated postal boxes. In addition, 79 boxes are allocated for companies.

South Al Sharqiyah Governorate has 18 post offices and 14 correspondence deposit boxes for licensed companies. The mobile postal boxes combined with personal dedicated postal boxes amount to 667 for individuals and 51 for companies.

In North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, licensed companies have access to 11 post offices and 15 deposit boxes for correspondence. The mobile mailboxes combined with personal dedicated mailboxes stand at 915 for individuals and 37 for companies.

Al Dhahirah Governorate hosts nine post offices and 10 deposit boxes for correspondence for licensed companies. Additionally, there are 10 personal virtual boxes, and the mobile mailboxes combined with personal dedicated mailboxes total 1,139 for individuals and 32 for companies.

Al-Wusta Governorate features one post office catering to all licensed companies and eight deposit boxes for correspondence. There are 27 mobile mailboxes combined with personal dedicated mailboxes and 28 boxes allocated for companies.

Regarding the movement of internal postal materials, statistics show that there were 9,000 registered letter mails, 18,658 postal parcels, 2,499,279 express mails for all licensed companies, 496,579 free-fee letters, 74,899 government transactions, and 10,300 bags for private mailing.

In terms of outgoing external postal materials, there were 6,000 registered letter mails, 30 publications, 11,478 postal parcels, 350,220 express mails for all licensed companies, and 2,632 free-rate letters.

Regarding incoming external postal materials, there were 281,000 registered letter mails, 18,752 postal parcels, and 1,266,715 express mails for all licensed companies. (ONA)
