ISWA World Congress 2023 begins

 
Muscat: ISWA 2023 World Congress - Global action towards Net - zero future began on Monday at Oman Convention and Exhibition Center.

ISWA 2023 World Congress Host is be’ah and the welcome remarks were delivered by Engineer Ahmed Hamed al Subhi, Chairman of Board of Directors, Oman Environmental Services Holding Company.

The welcome address was delivered by Dr Mansoor bin Talib al Hinai, Chairman, Authority for Public Services and Regulation.

In his opening address, ISWA President, Carlos Silva Filho, said, “Our common goal must be to to lessen the impact, reduce the waste and mitigate our footprint on the planet.”

ISWA, international Solid Waste Association, is a global nonprofit association working to promote and develop sustainable and professional waste management worldwide and the transition to a circular economy.

It’s vision is an earth where no waste exists and waste should be reused and reduced to minimum, then collected, recycled and treated properly. Residual matter should be disposed off in a safely engineered way, ensuring a clean and healthy environment.

In its statement ISWA said all people on earth should have the right to enjoy an environment with cleaner water seas and soils. To be able to achieve this, everyone needs to work together.

ISWA achieves its goals by promoting resources efficiency through sustainable production and consumption providing support developing an emergent economies, advancement of waste management to education and training, promoting appropriate and best available technologies and practices, professionalism to his program and professional qualifications and worldwide exchange of information and experience on waste management.
