Some wilayats of Dhofar to get heavy rains, with lower intensity

Muscat: As a direct impact of Cyclone Tej, heavy rains of varying intensity associated with wind gusts lashed several parts of the Wilayat of Shaleem and Al Halaniyat Islands, leading wadis to overflow.
Meanwhile, the center of the wilayat has also received torrential rains along with other areas, including the Niyabats of Al Shuwaimiyah and Daimit.
According to the latest chart of rainfall amounts released by the Met Office, different wilayats of the Dhofar Governorate are expected to get heavy to extremely heavy rains due to the direct impact of the Cycline Tej (now Category 1 ) until Tuesday.
The wilayat of Salalah will receive rainfall in the range of 150 mm to 100 mm on Monday and Tuesday, while Rakhyut will receive 300-150 mm, Dhalkut (300-150 mm), Mazyouna (60-150mm), Taqah (100-70 mm), Mirbat (100- 70mm), Sadah (300-100mm), Shaleem (100-50mm) and Halaniyat Island (100-100 mm).
The Met Office said Monday, October 23 will be the peak of the tropical condition with some wilayats expected to receive an average of 300 mm rainfall accompanied by winds at a speed of 60 knots.
