Oman takes part in conference of Islamic World Environment Ministers in Jeddah

Jeddah: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Environment Authority and Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, took part at the 9th Conference of Environment Ministers in the Islamic World, hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The conference was themed “Towards Green Transformation in the Islamic World”.
Oman’s delegation was headed during the event by Dr Abdullah Ali al Amri, Chairman of the Environment Authority.
The conference discussed the matter of electing the conference office’s members, the report of the 6th session of the Islamic World Executive Bureau for Environment and a report dealing with the activities of the ICESCO in the environment, development and sustainability fields, among other topics.
Furthermore, the event highlighted the project of natural disasters risk management programme and the project of drafting guidelines in the green transition sphere.
Moreover, the conference was attended by many environment ministers and delegations of member states in the ICESCO, as well as representatives of regional and international organizations operating in the field of environment, climate and agriculture.
