WUHU, CHINA: In an effort to address the urgent need for sustainable development and green travel, Chery, a renowned Chinese automotive brand, launched on Sunday the highly anticipated 2023 Chery International User Summit.

The event, which takes place from October 15 to 20 in Wuhu, Anhui province, China, brought together 800+ global stakeholders, including Chery's overseas users, influential bloggers, and mainstream media, from more than 50 countries, to collaborate and drive positive change. Delegates from the Sultanate of Oman included the General Manager of Chery Oman, Ahmad Salaheldin.

With the theme ‘New Journey New Life’ the summit focuses on new energy. The first day of the summit, Chery Merchandise Display, showcases Chery’s brand concept of ‘Green, Technology, Family, Companionship.’ Intelligent lifestyle companions and Chery's range of green and environmentally-friendly new energy vehicle (NEV) models were featured, highlighting a vibrant and eco-friendly lifestyle. Included were car models of Exeed and Omoda and Jaecoo (O&J) which cater to customers who are part of the ‘fashion elite’ and ‘modern lifestyle of health and sustainability.’

Day one activities include robotics showroom tour, meeting with Chery Middle East officials who discussed about network and NEV technology plan in Oman, including hybrid (HEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV), battery electric vehicle (BEV) and range extender electric vehicle (REEV) setups. Members of the media from the Middle East and North Africa region also conducted an interview with officials of Chery International led by Guibing Zhang, President of Chery International and Vice-President of Chery Group.

One of the major highlights of the summit will be the implementation of the ‘8023’ Plan and the Green Public Welfare Fund, which was unveiled earlier this year. Chery plans to sign agreements with reputable organisations such as the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (Unicef) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The aim is to provide assistance in crucial areas such as food, clean water, health, and education for children in impoverished countries and regions.

Additionally, Chery will offer nature-based solutions to protect global forests, oceans, wetlands, and wildlife. This initiative signifies Chery's commitment to global green sustainable development and its dedication to corporate social responsibility.

As part of its commitment to environmental protection, Chery will also collaborate with various stakeholders in Wuhu to co-build an ‘Ecological City.’ With over 26 years of experience in green manufacturing, Chery has become a leader in pollution prevention, energy conservation, and clean production.

By leveraging advanced green technologies, Chery aims to support the economic development of Wuhu — the birth city of Chery — while improving the ecological environment. The company's vision is to create a harmonious and sustainable city that serves as a model for other cities worldwide.

In a bid to showcase the benefits of green living and inspire global cooperation, the summit will include a Mass Ride Event. Chery's overseas users, influential bloggers, and mainstream media will come together to participate in this public service event that aims to capture the world's attention.

Chery's efforts to contribute to global sustainable development have garnered positive attention, as the brand resonates with consumers both nationally and globally. By organising the 2023 Chery International User Summit, the company demonstrates warmth, responsibility, and a genuine commitment to shaping a greener future. The event underscores Chery's role as an industry pioneer in providing users with innovative green travel experiences while actively engaging in corporate social responsibility on a global scale.

In Oman, Chery will soon be launched by Saud Bahwan Group.
