Oman partakes in Arab Finance Ministers meeting in Morocco

Marrakesh: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Finance, participated on Sunday in the annual meeting of the Arab Ministers of Finance, on the sidelines of the joint meetings of the World Bank group and the International Monetary Fund, being held Marrakesh, the Kingdom of Morocco.
The meeting discussed the most important financial and economic issues of concern to the Arab countries and the applicable financial reform efforts, the development prospects in the Arab world, experiences and expertise at the level of public financial policies in member states, in addition to ways to coordinate and unify legislation and financial systems among Arab countries.
Nasser Khamis al Jashmi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance and head of Oman’s delegation in the meeting, lauded the efforts made by the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund to end poverty, promote shared prosperity and achieve sustainable growth by backing economic policies that enhance financial stability. Al Jashmi stressed the importance of transition to renewable energy in order to ensure energy security and address climate change.
This meeting comes within the framework of coordinating Arab efforts to address international financial issues to serve their common interests.
Meanwhile, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance met on the sidelines of the meeting with Fahd al Jarallah, Kuwaiti Minister of Finance.
The two sides discussed a set of topics, including issues and economic and financial developments raised during the meetings of the two international financial institutions.
