HM presides over cabinet meeting

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik presided over the Council of Ministers meeting at Al Baraka Al Amer Palace on Wednesday.
The Council of Ministers approved, during its meeting chaired by His Majesty the Sultan, the promotion of Omani employees at the units of the state’s administrative apparatus for the years 2013 to 2016 during the years 2024 and 2025.
His Majesty praised the tangible development in the performance of most government units, directing them to exert more efforts during the coming period to upgrade government performance pointing to the importance of the governance of procedures, organizing doing business, and paying attention to enhancing the confidence of beneficiaries and improving services.
His Majesty directed for the commencement of procedures to establish an integrated sports city for holding international and regional tournaments.
His Majesty gave his directives to accelerate the implementation of the Council of Ministers resolution to address the challenges facing the implementation of the Al Batinah Coastal Road project and to settle all cash compensation related to the project by the end of this year.
His Majesty gave his directives for the development of the camel-racing infrastructure by maintaining and establishing a number of racetracks in the governorates.
His Majesty expresses his satisfaction over the financial performance during the past three years and the good economic results that contributed to enhancing GDP growth, improving financial-economic and credit rating indicators.
His Majesty affirmed the Sultanate of Oman’s solidarity with the brotherly Palestinian people and its support to all efforts aimed at ending escalation and attacks on children and innocent civilians as well as the release of prisoners in accordance with the principles of international law, calling for the importance that the international community assumes its responsibilities to protect civilians, ensure their humanitarian needs, and lift the illegal siege on Gaza and the rest of the Palestinian territories.
His Majesty called for the resumption of the peace process to enable the Palestinian people to regain all their legitimate rights by establishing their independent state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital in accordance with the principle of the two-state solution, the Arab Peace Initiative and the UN resolutions.
