LONDON: The Anglo-Omani Society held its annual luncheon in London.

Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali al Harthi, Political Affairs Under-Secretary at the Foreign Ministry, was the guest of honour from the Omani side and Lord Gerry Grimstone was the guest of honour from the British side.

The under-secretary delivered a speech praising the historic and distinguished relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Kingdom.

Al Harthi touched on the Sultanate of Oman’s keenness on bolstering its economic relations with Britain, thanking the Society members for the efforts they are making to foster relations between the two friendly countries.

For his part, Lord Germiston spoke about the importance his country attaches to its relationship with the Sultanate of Oman and its appreciation for the role it plays in the region.

The event was attended by Badr bin Mohammed al Mantheri, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Kingdom, retired Major-General Richard Stanford, Chairman of the Anglo-Omani Society, members of the Society and diplomats from the embassy. — ONA
