Muscat - Oman Airports signed an agreement with KIMS Hospitals Group on Thursday to provide medical care services to passengers at Muscat International Airport.

The agreement was signed by Sheikh Ayman bin Ahmed al Hosani, CEO of Oman Airports, and the chairman of KIMS Hospitals Group.

This agreement comes within plans to enhance services at Muscat International Airport, by providing assistance to passengers in emergency medical cases, such as cases of clots, sudden cardiac arrest, stroke, or injuries whether for arriving or departing passengers.

The agreement will also cover employees of Muscat International Airport and aircraft crews.

The agreement, which is valid for 4 years, also aims to deal with cases of flights transferred to Muscat due to the presence of a medical condition that requires urgent medical intervention and transfer of the patient to the nearest hospital to complete treatment if necessary.

KIMS Hospitals Group will provide a clinic on the airside (airport apron), which consists of an outpatient clinic at the entrance to the airport building on the ground floor with two first aid rooms in the passenger building in the departures area, and a first aid room in the airport building in the arrivals area.

Under the contract, a medical staff of two doctors and six nurses with experience in dealing with emergency cases, and three ambulances with trained Omani drivers will be provided.
