Al Mirani Castle to open for public soon

 
Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism on Monday signed a contract for the management, operation and utilization of Al Mirani Fort in the Wilayat of Muscat. The contract was inked with Al Hajar Mountains Resorts and Hotels company.

The agreement was signed by Heritage Undersecretary Eng Ibrahim Said al Kharousi and Eng Khalid Hamad al Busaidi, CEO of Al Hajar Mountains Resorts and Hotels.



The agreement’s signing reflects the Ministry’s efforts to make optimum use of architectural heritage, ensure its sustainability and maximize its benefit.

This approach also seeks to provide direct and indirect employment opportunities, empower the private sector and enable small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and artisans to find marketing outlets for their products.

Other objectives include enriching the tourism sector through value-added projects serving the local community and revitalizing cultural heritage sites in accordance with Oman Vision 2040 and the strategic programmes of the 10th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025).
