Financial manager programme to empower new generation of Omani business leaders

 
MUSCAT: In a strategic partnership, the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and the Muscat Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) are poised to unveil the transformative Oman Financial Manager Programme . The inauguration is scheduled for Thursday, August 24, 2023, at OCCI’s Salalah headquarters.

The initiative seeks to advance Omani professionals across both public and private sectors. Focusing on nurturing strategic leadership capabilities, the program is designed to equip participants with the skills required to take on influential leadership roles within various institutions.

Labour Minister Dr Mahad bin Saeed Baawin will join government officials, prominent business leaders, and representatives from ICAI and the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) at the opening.

It marks the start of a two-month program crafted for Omani nationals holding relevant bachelor's degrees. Eligible candidates should possess a minimum of two years' experience in financial or accounting roles.

The program aims to: empower Omani professionals across diverse institutions; cultivate strategic leadership capabilities among Omani talent, attract and foster a new cohort of Omani leaders.

Supporting the initiative is the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA)'s Credit Bureau. FSRA's objectives are to contribute to economic diversification, reduce reliance on traditional sectors, and nurture emerging industries.

The Omani CFO program offers pathways for professional growth and instilling heightened confidence in standards, elevating the landscape of business, investment, and driving professional development. It also augments the efficiency of accounting professionals.

Core topics encompass operations and finance management, resource allocation, sector revitalization, investment strategies, budgeting, strategic planning, and risk management.
