Oman attends G20 anti-corruption meet

KOLKATA: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the State Audit Institution (SAI), took part in the ministerial meeting of the Public Bodies and Authorities Responsible for Preventing and Combating Corruption of the Group of Twenty (G20) on Saturday in Kolkata, India.
The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation was headed by Shaikh Ghosn bin Hilal al Alawi, Chairman of the State Audit Institution (SAI). The Sultanate of Oman participated in the meeting as a guest country.
In his speech at the meeting, the chairman of SAI confirmed that the State Audit Institution is following up on the implementation of the National Plan for Enhancing Integrity, a reference tool for national action and institutional integration in the field of promoting integrity and combating corruption. He added the plan comes within the framework of the Sultanate of Oman’s keenness to adopt international best practices and its commitment to the requirements set forth by the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
The meeting discussed the issuance of the Accountability Report for 2023 and a compendium of good practices in addition to the adoption of the G20 second ministerial declaration on combating corruption.
