Muscat: A labour recruitment office in Suhar has been convicted for not complying with providing the service properly, the Directorate General of Consumer Protection in North al Batinah Governorate.

As per the details, a consumer had an agreement worth RO1,300 with a labor recruitment office for the recruitment of a domestic worker.

He paid RO500, but the office retracted from bringing the worker and returned RO200 to the consumer, refusing to return the remaining RO300.

As it was also evident that the office was basically working without a license, the client submitted a complaint to the directorate and as per subsequent measures, the case was referred to the Public Prosecution.

A fine of RO400 was imposed on the company.
