The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) announced opportunities to participate in the Global Entrepreneurship Conference in Australia for this year.
The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Authority, will participate in the Global Entrepreneurship Conference 2023, held in September in the Australian city of Melbourne, for four days. The participation of the Sultanate of Oman comes within a unified pavilion of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The GEC is the largest gathering of entrepreneurs globally, providing a unique opportunity to meet with entrepreneurs from around the world and benefit from their experiences. This is also an opportunity to listen to international experts and decision-makers, present the challenges they face, and search for sustainable solutions that contribute to creating a unified, strong global entrepreneurial environment.
The Authority called on entrepreneurs to register and compete to participate in the conference, which includes many specialised workshops in the field of entrepreneurship with the participation of institutions supporting the entrepreneurship sector and more than 4,000 participants, including policy-makers, strategic experts, researchers, economists, entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium enterprises from more than 200 countries around the world.
Qais bin Rashid al Tobi, General Supervisor of the Promising Omani Emerging Companies Programme at the Authority, stated: “The Authority’s participation comes to explore the economic challenges facing the global entrepreneurial environment, exchange experiences and identify future investment opportunities.
It is also an opportunity for pioneer businesses to gain insights, build relationships and launch into global markets, especially since the conference will witness a wide international presence and significant leadership momentum through a number of investment rounds and launches for projects, products and services.” At the international level, the conference will host several senior entrepreneurs, who will participate in panel discussions during which the conference discussion sessions aim to be a source of inspiration for entrepreneurs and a positive incentive to take innovative measures that keep pace with the accelerated efforts to develop the entrepreneurship environment at the local, regional and international levels.
