Weather: Oman met warns of flash floods in 3 governorates

 
Muscat: The latest weather maps and analysis of the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center indicate the continuous effect of a trough of low pressure on the Sultanate of Oman during the coming days, said Oman Meteorology.

'Advection of clouds over most of the Sultanate of Oman governorates will continue with chances of isolated rain (10-30 mm) that may cause flash floods (Wadis) over South al Sharqiya, Al Wusta, and Dhofar governorates'

While over the rest of the governorates, the weather will remain cloudy to partly cloudy with chances of isolated rain.

Cloud development is expected over A Hajar Mountains with chances of isolated rain occasionally thundershowers may extend to the desert areas and be associated with fresh downdraft wind and blowing dust.

The sea will be moderate to rough along the Oman Sea coast with maximum wave height ranges between 1.5 - 2.5 meters, and rough along the Arabian Sea coasts with a maximum height of 4 meters.

Civil Aviation Authority advises all to take precautions during wadis and sailing and to follow weather bulletins.
