Zone 88 announced in Duqm for space sector investments

Muscat: The Global Space and Technology Company announced the 'Zone 88' area located in the special economic zone at Duqm (SEZAD), aimed at attracting global investments in the space industry.
The area includes five international projects: A space habitat centre, commercial space launching area, unmanned vehicles technology centre, artificial intelligence and advanced technology testing area and ground station. These projects have been designed to promote the space and technology industry, Attract global investment and scientific research to build a sustainable knowledge-based economy in this sector in the region.
Eng. Bahiya bint Hilal bin Sultan Al Shuaibi, the Founder and CEO of the company, emphasised that these projects will open the door for international and local institutions to invest in the space industry and benefit from the strategic location of the Sultanate of Oman. It will serve as a suitable destination for spacecraft launches and as a centre for research and activities in the space sector in the region.
