Dhofar Municipality issues regulations for setting caravans during Khareef

Muscat: Dhofar Municipality has set stringent requirements for organizing mobile homes, commonly known as caravans, during the Dhofar Khareef season .

This move comes as a result of recognizing the significance of regulating caravans and providing designated areas for such an activity.

The conditions outlined by the municipality encompass several crucial aspects. First and foremost, caravans owners are required to obtain permits before setting up their caravans. Erecting fences or berms is strictly prohibited, in addition to the use of loudspeakers, lasers, and upward-facing lights.

Furthermore, it is mandatory to equip the caravans with adequate safety and security measures throughout the authorized period.

Moreover, caravan owners must adhere to the designated location specified by the competent authority. In the event of a request for relocation, the competent authority should be contacted for proper guidance. It is also essential to maintain the cleanliness of the assigned site during the permit period.

Additionally, the use of mobile toilets is only permitted if they meet sanitary requirements. Organizers are strictly prohibited from transferring or assigning the permit to other individuals.

The caravan owners are mandated to pay the prescribed fees, amounting to 35 Omani riyals per week. Additionally, a refundable insurance fee of 50 Omani riyals is required, which will be reimbursed upon the conclusion of the authorized period.

To ensure compliance, the municipality has imposed a fine of 100 Omani riyals for breaching any of these conditions.

In case of repeated violations or failure to adhere to the necessary requirements, immediate removal will be enforced, with the municipality bearing no responsibility towards others.

Dhofar Municipality urges all caravan owners to strictly follow these requirements and maintain a harmonious coexistence with the surrounding environment and fellow residents.

By organizing caravans in accordance with these regulations, residents and visitors alike can enjoy a safe and enjoyable autumn experience.
