With more than RO 2 million, Namaa Dhofar Services promotes the growth and sustainability of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Dhofar Governorate.
This came within the framework of partnership and integration between the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority and Namaa. The value of the amounts granted to small and medium enterprises in the first quarter of this year amounted to RO 2,492,692,74.
The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority attaches great importance to the In- Country Value through programmes, initiatives and partnerships aimed at promoting the growth of small and medium enterprises and contributing to empowering human capabilities and accelerating the pace of the Omani economy by strengthening partnerships with government institutions and private sector institutions and focusing on the most important specialised areas that contain business opportunities to these institutions.
It also seeks to raise its efficiency and help in accessing the local and international markets, in addition to the authority's efforts through the Supplier Development Programme, which contributes to the development of small and medium enterprises by introducing them to the procedures, requirements and technical standards required in cooperation with the relevant authorities.
The number of institutions benefiting from business opportunities reached 272, which included several sectors: extension and connection works, network expansion, technical and technical services within the company, cleaning services, travel offices, car rental, and car maintenance and repair. This, in turn, reflects Namaa'a commitment to its active role in sustaining the activity of small and medium enterprises and enhancing their contributions to the national economy.
