Oman Air signs 3-year partnership deal with Chelsea

Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, signed a sponsorship deal with Chelsea Football Club, according to which Oman Air will be granted the status of global airline partner of Chelsea Club for three years. Flying to more than 50 destinations worldwide, including daily flights from Muscat to London, Oman Air has a global footprint which aligns with Chelsea’s far-reaching fanbase, and offers award-winning customer experiences. As part of the launch, and to celebrate its 30th anniversary this year, Oman Air and Chelsea have worked together to design a premium co-branded plane livery, which will feature as part of Oman Air’s fleet at the end of October.
Chelsea Football Club is an English professional football club based in Fulham, West London. Founded in 1905, they play their home games at Stamford Bridge. The club competes in the Premier League, the top division of English football. They won their first major honour in 1955. Chelsea FC is one of the highest ranking clubs in the English Premier League, which is considered the most followed and best-known football league in the world with a seasonal audience of over 3 billion. Eng Abdulaziz al Raisi, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Air, explained in a press conference, “We are extremely proud of this valuable collaboration, which not only celebrates the love for football but also presents a remarkable opportunity to showcase the beauty, culture and hospitality of Oman to Chelsea’s extensive fan base. With an astonishing 135 million fans, 85 per cent of whom are in international markets, we are offered an unparalleled platform to cultivate awareness of Oman in new markets across the globe, not just on match days, but well beyond.”

Chelsea Club chief executive, Chris Jurasek, commented, “We are very pleased to welcome Oman Air as our Official Airline Partner. We have a shared ambition for innovation and success both on and off the pitch, and we are excited to bring this partnership to life for our fans around the world.” The airline will be Chelsea’s global airline partner. However, the Oman Air name and logo will not be on Chelsea’s shirts during the upcoming period, the precise nature of the partnership between Oman Air and Chelsea is unknown. Oman Air has a long track record in sports sponsorships. As well as having an ongoing partnership with Oman Football Association that spans over a decade, the airline also supports Oman Sail, Oman Golf Association, Oman Desert Marathon, Oman’s Paralympic Team and others. Meanwhile, as a key player in Oman’s tourism strategy, Oman Air continues to explore opportunities to promote Oman as a preferred tourist destination around the world.
