Those who wish to perform Umrah in the holy cities of Mecca and Madinah can apply now as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has begun issuing Umrah visas.
Citizens and residents can log on to Nusuk platform to make an application as was announced by the Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (MoHU).
Issuance of Umrah visas was stopped in view of the Haj pilgrimage and the last date for performing Umrah was June 4, 2023, according to an announcement made by the ministry.
Now, Umrah pilgrims can enter the holy city from July 19 and a booking has to be made on Nusuk to visit Madinah, as part of their Umrah.
The announcement further said that those who are on family visit visa, tourist visa or transit visa too can make use of the services through the Nusuk.
One can perform Umrah on a visit visa or Umrah visa. The tourist visa is also a multiple entry visa that anyone can apply for regardless of religion. On the other hand, the Umrah visa is a single entry visa only issued to Muslims who will enter Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.
It is to be noted that the Umrah visa does not allow individuals to perform Haj.
