Official Haj delegation returns

The official delegation that represented the Sultanate of Oman to Saudi Arabia for Haj returned home on Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs.
The members of the delegation were accorded a warm welcome at the Muscat International Airport by Dr Mohammed bin Said al Ma'amari, Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, Abdullah bin Saud al Anzi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Sultanate of Oman, along with several officials from the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs.
The Haj mission, headed by Sultan bin Said al Hinai, was deputed to provide its services to the Omani pilgrims in the Holy land during their performance of the Haj rituals.
The mission comprised members from Fatwa and Religious Guidance, Administrative and Financial Delegation, a committee supervising Haj companies, a medical delegation, representatives from the State Financial and Administrative Control Authority, a delegation from the Royal Oman Police (ROP), media representatives, and a scout delegation.
The delegation left the Sultanate of Oman on June 14, and it served the Omani pilgrims and supervised their performance of the rituals effectively during its presence at the holy cities of Mecca and Madinah and the holy sites.
'We were able to help and support 14,000 pilgrims to perform this year's Haj and facilitate their journey in Mecca and Madinah during the pilgrimage,' said Ali al Hattali, representative of the ministry.
He further said that preparations are underway for next year's Haj pilgrimage in cooperation with the Ministry of Haj and Umrah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
