Oman U23 set to vie in WAFF meet in Iraq

 
The West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) announced officially the schedule of group stage matches for the upcoming U-23 Championship. The tournament will commence on Monday to showcase the immense talent of nine participating teams from the region.

The first day of the highly anticipated West Asian Championship will witness three thrilling matches. Oman will face off against Lebanon at the Al Madina International Stadium, located in the vibrant capital city of Baghdad. Simultaneously, Syria and Palestine will clash at the Karbala International Stadium, setting the stage for an intense showdown. The day will conclude with another tight clash between the host Iraq and Jordan at the Al Madina Stadium.

The tournament's action will continue on Wednesday with another riveting lineup. The UAE will go head-to-head with Jordan, followed by Iran and Syria fixture. The second day's matches will end by an exciting meeting between Yemen and Oman. Two days later, the third round of matches will take place as Lebanon will showcase its skills against Yemen while Palestine will take on Iran. The day will end by a highly anticipated showdown between Iraq and UAE.

As the competition intensifies, the champion of each group, along with the best runner-up from the three groups, will advance to the highly anticipated semi-finals. The stakes are high, and the teams will leave no stone unturned in their quest for victory.

The tournament on its fourth edition, will be held at the Al Madinah and Karbala stadiums. These international-class venues boast a seating capacity of 30,000 spectators, providing an electric atmosphere for players and fans alike.

Notably, the red warrior team concluded their final training session at their domestic camp in preparation for the WAFF tournament on Friday, ensuring they are in peak condition before embarking on their journey to Iraq.
