HH Sayyid Theyazin presides over ABA Oman International School graduation

MUSCAT: ABA Oman International School celebrated the graduating Class of 2023, with the event held under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth. The occasion marked a significant milestone in the academic journey and achievements of ABA's 34th cohort of graduates.
During the ceremony, HH Sayyid Theyazin presented the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diplomas to the graduates, acknowledging their remarkable dedication and perseverance throughout their educational tenure.
Bikram Monga, ABA Board Chair, commended the graduates on their successful completion of the rigorous IB programme.
Addressing the cohort, Craig Williamson, ABA Head of School, urged the graduates to build upon their accomplishments and utilise their talents for the betterment of society.
Simon Walker, High School Principal and Assistant Head of School, shared words of encouragement with the graduating class. With 27 different nationalities represented in the Class of 2023, Walker urged each student to make a positive difference as global citizens.
The Class of 2023 was praised for their exceptional performances throughout the year. Valedictorians Noorah Husband and Ayaan Nadamal reflected on their time at ABA, recognising it as a crucial stepping stone in their academic journey that provided them with a solid foundation for future challenges.
Anja Van Der Merwe received the International Understanding Award for promoting internationalism within and beyond the community, while Sarah Altaee was presented with the High School Philippa Leggate Award for Citizenship, recognising her valuable contributions to the ABA community.
Notable awards included The Duke of Edinburgh International Award - Gold, presented to Alix Dupont, Maelle Storder, Sam Anthony, Georgia Isles and Ben Storer. Georgia Isles also received the Individual Sports Athlete of the Year award, while Daniel Helou and Gabriella Cooper were honoured with the overall Athlete of the Year awards for their exceptional performance during MESAC and other sporting events.
Guy Essex, Assistant High School Principal, expressed confidence in the graduating class, stating that they would continue to inspire, empower and uphold the ABA Way as they strive to make a positive impact on the world.
