Over 900 prisoners released under Fak Kurba Initiative

Muscat: The Omani Lawyers Association (OLA) said 925 were released from various governorates of the Sultanate as per the Fak Kurba Initiative 2023.
Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim al Zadjali, a member of the Shura Council, representative of the state of Sohar, the supervisor of the Fak Kurba Initiative, and the President of the Omani Lawyers Association, affirmed that this initiative proves that the Omani society is a generous and benevolent society.
He said the 5,894 prisoners arrested due to financial claims incurred against them were released so far as per the Fak Kurba initiative.
Of the people released this year, 194 were from Muscat, 191 were from North al Batinah, 122 were from South al Batinah, and 97 were from Al Dhahirah. 87 from Al Buraimi, 79 from Al Dakhiliyah, 59 from North al Sharqiyah, 40 from South al Sharqiyah, 33 from Dhofar, 20 from Al Wusta, and three from Musandam.
It may be noted that the donors can access the Fak Kurba website and see the details of the cases that they wish to release by making contributions.
