Al Nahda suffer 4-2 defeat to Al Ahly Tripoli

Libya’s Al Ahly Tripoli defeated Oman’s Al Nahda 4-2 at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in the city of Benghazi on Tuesday night. The match was played during the first leg of the second round of the King Salman Cup for Clubs, which is organised by the Arab Football Association.
Al Ahly Tripoli dominated the match during the first half. Anis Selto scored the first goal for Al Ahly Tripoli in the 13th minute. Al Ahly Tripoli's pressure continued after the first goal, and Mohammed al Munir scored the second goal by hitting a powerful shot from the middle of the ground in the 20th minute.
The third goal came in the same way, from a powerful shot in the far corner on Al Nahda goalkeeper Ibrahim al Mukaini by Noureddine al Qalib in the 33 minutes.
Al Nahda managed to score their first goal through Al Mundhir al Alawi in the 44th minute, but Ahmed al Tarbi secured another goal for Al Ahly Tripoli in the fourth minute of extra time.
Al Nahda Club attempted to reduce the deficit in the second half but failed to capitalise on the opportunities. Omar al Maliki scored a second goal for Al Nahda in the 90th minute, but it was not enough to secure a win.
In order to qualify for the next round, Al Nahda must win by a difference of three goals in the return match, which is scheduled to be played at Al Buraimi Sports Complex on May 29.
The winner of the match will advance to the group stage of the King Salman Cup for Clubs, which will be held in the cities of Abha, Taif and Al Baha in Saudi Arabia. The qualified team from Al Ahly Tripoli or Al Nahda will join the group that includes Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal, Morocco's Wydad, and Qatar's Al Sadd teams.
Al Nahda remain optimistic about their chances in the return match and are committed to giving their best effort to qualify for the King Salman Cup group stage for clubs.
