New Labour Law to keep pace with changing developments

Muscat: The fourth conference of the General Federation of Oman Workers (GFOW) began in the Sultanate on Wednesday, which also see an election to the Board of Directors for the period 2023-2027.
It may be noted that there are 327 trade unions in the Sultanate, and 7 federations representing various sectors.
Sheikh Nasser bin Showain al Hosni, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour, said, The GFOW has played an important role in participating in drafting the terms of reference for the new Labor Law, which will keep pace with current and future economic, social, and developmental developments.
Nabhan al Battashi, chairman of the Board of Directors, GFOW, said, 'We will focus on discussing the new draft labor law, the law on the social protection system, and the job security system. Nabhan We worked on developing the trade union movement by implementing a program to enhance and consolidate the concept of dialogue and trade union organization, by which we succeeded in defending the basic, economic, and social rights of workers.'
